Language

While it won't translate documents or web pages for you, you can always type in words in languages you don't understand and see meanings, contextual translations, and other documents around the web where the word is properly used so you can get a feel for how it's used. It also doesn't offer the spoken word capabilities of other services, so it's probably not best used for quick words or phrases that you may encounter elsewhere, or things like tweets and Facebook posts made by your friends in other languages.

Yeah, unfortunately actual translators suck. You're telling me this will beat the shit out of them? And moreover, yeah, having one in your ear will work for you, but how will you communicate back? Your listener should have one too, and is this gonna happen so easily?

It doesn't work with all languages!!! I'm learning Greek and want to communicate with Greek people. So strange how Greek used to be the preferred second language in America and now it is Spanish and French.

Culture and education as doing today is your enemy. They abstract the fan from the lesson in a class which is the real practice. The day you finnish your school you already get antique informations

@Galileo the only problem that i see here is what if the person you are talking with uses both a foreign and native words at the same time. wouldn't that lead to inaccurate translation??

@Bill I'd rather just put my phone on the table & set it to auto-translate any speech it recognises using google?

Siri can barely understand me when I speak slowly and clearly, so I'm unsure how the earbuds can pick up speech at conversational speed.

It's a cool idea, but in real life situations such as walking into a store, or anywhere that is random, you can't reply
