Multiple gaming monitors

Multiple

Large, high-resolution gaming monitors are more common - and more affordable - than ever. The technology is so good that I wish all monitors have it and that it could work with any graphics card. While playing your game, your monitor will have an option to display the game in multiple screens. Inventory is also displayed in one screen and the actual gameplay in another. Two screens attacking your senses at the same time.

Slightly off topic, but what would the middle step up be between these budgets and the high end monitors?

@fhernandez45 Hmm. The next step up in the UltraSharp line?

@fhernandez45 the latter offering higher grade color accuracy. You can check out all of the options on this landing page

@bgreene47 I went straight to the Monoprice site after reading your recommendation, but there were enough problems mentioned in the review section that I wasn't comfortable with the choice

anyone have experience with Monoprice cust svc on their more expensive stuff ?

@relliott49 They've been very nice when I had issues with a poorly designed cable, but that was less than $10.

Well, I can say this - I haven't had any real issues with my 27" monoprice panels.?

I had a pair of Dell 24" panels before that, and while they were generally problem-free, a lot has changed between then and now.

I'm waiting out for 4K @ 120hz then I'll buy 2 of them. Probably going to be waiting at least 18 months.

  • Reply

@lbarnes4d Then you're waiting for DP 1.3 and the intergration of DP 1.3 and entirely new panels capable of doing 4:4:4 chroma at 120hz

@lbarnes4d You're probably going to have to wait a few years at least tbh. I've heard Seiki is working on a pro series that was revealed at CES.?

  • Reply

@lbarnes4d This is personally what I'm waiting for as I'm interested to see Seiki attempt to break into the higher end market as their current offerings aren't great for gamers.

@rrose4g what kind of PC are you going to render 4K @ 240fps (120fps / screen)?

  • Reply

@dray4h I have a 120hz Bravia TV, and I'm never going back to 60hz. Also waiting on a good 4k monitor for my PC.

CrystalPro monitor is the same panel as Apple's display?

  • Reply

@skennedy4k Oh, that's a good one. I'd been meaning to see what their most recent 27 was.

  • Reply

@bmedina4l I just found out that it's not compatible with Macs due to driver incompatibility. Doh! Their other ones should be just as good from what I understand.

  • Reply

@bmedina4l I currently have a triple monitor setup with the VX238H-W at the moment and I love it. No complaints from me.

There's usually a high turnover rate with model numbers; you could buy any monitor from a number of manufacturers and it'll be discontinued and replaced in like 6 months.

  • Reply

@sharris4o Not to worry about the display market.

  • Reply

Well, we mean the general monitors won't change, but the models definitely would - that's why we plan to update them.

I just really hate how manufacturers these days keep shoving 16:9 down our throats.?

  • Reply

@ntorres4r ?I just have to pray my pair of 8-year old 19 1440x900 monitors won't die on me.

@ntorres4r One interesting new monitor is LG 34UM9

Not to be facetious, I really don't know the answer, but what is the advantage of buying any of these 20"+ monitors, over just a TV??

  • Reply

@rcook4u The advantage can only be seen if you game, due to the refresh time on monitors being often faster, the image in a game becomes smoother.

  • Reply

@rcook4u If you want to do any work, you sit closer to the monitor. 30 + screens at 1920x1080 look like crap if viewed from a close distance.

  • Reply

@elevisions are designed to be seen at a greater distance than computer monitors.

  • Reply

@rcook4u You can get around this by using an HDTV as a monitor, but unless it was as far away as the designers intended, it's going to appear low-resolution over a large area, very pixel-y, and unclear.

  • Reply

@cscott4y It seems you're describing a situation in which you have a keyboard and mouse which are a great distance from the HDTV, which could work, but considering how much time most people who would consider this option averages at the computer, it would
