R.V. Park

R.V.

The lure of the open road and the comforts of home come together when you're traveling in a recreational vehicle, or RV. Intrepid travelers exploring the country in an RV will want to put on the brakes and stay for a while at these RV parks and campgrounds. Tourists can park their R.V. in designated locations all over the country. More rustic campgrounds may offer little more than a parking spot, while other spots offer facilities including water and electricity hook-ups. Parks can also be used stopovers during when visiting different places.

question... do these pay campgrounds take only cash, debit card or c/card or checks??

  • Reply

@mrobertsongs It varies from campground to campground ,but most take credit cards.

  • Reply

@mrobertsongs I think we've only had to use a check once or twice for some really small privately owned campgrounds.?

most of the sites are heavily treed. ? do you think someone with satellite would get a signal??

  • Reply

@awestgv I'm not sure, but we tend to pick shady sites, so you would probably be fine in the more open spots!?

Ah.... Valencia! CalArts was one of the schools I attended, and I have fond memories of the area

  • Reply

@bgonzalezh7 it's much more developed now than when I was there in the late '70s/early '80s

@bgonzalezh7 I'll be on the road in a few days, and won't have regular Internet access for a while

I am from Missouri and have stayed in Osage Beach Campground many times. It is a very nice campground.

@jcruzhb We also lived in Louisiana for 9 years and know the park in Westwego well.

  • Reply

@jcruzhb if you go back to the New Orleans area make sure you do yourself a favor and stay on the North Shore of Lake Pontchartrain

  • Reply

@jcruzhb It is a very beautiful place to camp, there are pull through sites as well as back in sites. Electricity and water hook ups. And the biggest plus is that you are right on the most beautiful river in Louisiana called the Tchefuncte (Cha Funk Ta) R

  • Reply

@jcruzhb You can sit outside next to a swivel bridge and watch sailboats and big water craft accessing the Tchefuncte river through the bridge. Or you can stroll along the river. There are several bars and other restaurants there as well.

If you are ever in St. Petersburg, Florida, a great place to camp would be Fort Desoto Park. Great beauty, (the real Florida) great fishing, hiking, sunbathing, beaches, fabulous sunsets, grilling, a view of the famous Sunshine Skyway Bridge, the worlds longest fishing pier, seafood, Diners, Drive-ins & Dives type mom & pops places to eat, various eco-ystems and a huge fort to explore.

@pfordhm Lake of the Ozarks landed number 1 ! Just down the road.

  • Reply

@pfordhm I myself, as a local, still love to just take a drive thru the park and 'yes' grabbing a spot right on the Lake really adds to it.?

  • Reply

@mallenho We felt like it was the most scenic spot that we've camped!?

@scarpenterhp Central Mo is home !?
