Ceramic fiber

A ceramic fiber is made from high quality alumina silica fiber and especially mechanically needled for increased tensile strength and surface integrity in form of ceramic fiber yarn. It can be used for high temperature applications up to 2300 F. This cloth is so advanced that it can be widely used in welding, foundry works, aluminum and steel mills, boiler insulation and seal, shipyards, refineries, power plants and chemical plants. This product is popular buy from the people in the north, and by north, I don't mean the clan of Starks in Winterfell.

@rjohnston2u I hope they make this material

@rjohnston2u yes, like glassfiber, cardbon fiber, and now ceramic fiber?

@cwhite2v The combustion process is just as hot inside the aluminum chambers as it is on the glowing exhaust, but the aluminum is no where near melting temperature

Straight pipes doesn't always produce the best power, and for daily driving, or driving across a whole continent with them (which I do with this car), it gets annoying. ?

Can this be used in place of the brittle, and expensive, ceramic baffles used in wood stoves??

@cstewart33 The ceramic fiber module compressed by fiber blanket become the first choice of modern industrial furnace due to its high temperature resistance

  • Reply

@bcollins34 and the high elastic property of fiber blanket can make up to the deformation furnace shell

  • Reply

A flexible fiber blanket can withstand mechanical force.
