Imagine if you have a temperature controlled mugs. If you want to really enjoy all the subtle nuisances to be found in every cup of specialty coffee or you want to maintain your beer in its sub zero degree glory, then you either need to drink it rather quickly after it is brewed or find a mug that can keep it hot or cold for long periods of time. Personally, I choose the latter. That way I can enjoy my coffee for much longer after I have brewed it and I don't have to worry about it ever going cold on me. After all, reheated coffee is just plain gross. There, I said it.
